The University of Rwanda (UR) is pleased to announce that the online application portal for Undergraduate Programs will be open from 16th June to 16th July 2025. Prospective students are invited to apply for admission across all UR Colleges and Campuses for the upcoming academic year 2025–2026.

• Eligibility: Based on academic merit and program-specific requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements

Admission into UR’s undergraduate programs is merit-based. Each program has specific academic entry requirements, published on the UR website. Selection is highly competitive and based on performance in Advanced Level National Examinations or equivalent international qualifications.

Application Guidelines

Step-by-Step Application Process

1. Go to the University of Rwanda website: www.ur.ac.rw

2. Click on "Admissions" in the main menu.

3. Follow instructions based on your applicant category:

A. For National Applicants (Senior Six from 2012 to 2024):

• Select “New Application”

• Fill out the application form

B. For International Applicants & Those Who Completed S6 Before 2012:

• Visit https://efilling.ur.ac.rw/applicants

• Enter your details to generate a Reference Number and PIN

• Upload required documents including:

  • Valid Passport or National ID

  • Senior Six Certificate or equivalent

  • Equivalence document (if applicable)

Note: Save your Reference Number and PIN securely.

Application Fees and Payment Instructions

• Rwandan and EAC applicants: 5,000 RWF

• Non-EAC applicants: 6,000 RWF

How to Pay:

• Use Urubuto System via:

  • MTN Mobile Money (7755#)

  • Bank of Kigali counters or BK App

  • Online via https://urubutopay.rw/pay-now?origin=internal

  • Use Merchant Code: TH77306981

Do not pay through BK Agents.

After payment, log in via the “Registered Users” section using your Reference Number and PIN to complete and submit your application.

For Applicants Who Previously Started but Did Not Complete

• Use your previously generated Reference Number and PIN

• Pay the application fee as indicated above

• Resume and submit your application through the UR online portal
