Background
UN Women is the United Nations entity for gender equality and women’s empowerment. It supports efforts to eliminate discrimination and promotes equality through strategic planning, results-based management (RBM), and more effective programming. The Strategic Planning Unit (SPU) plays a key role in these efforts, providing technical support and overseeing UN Women's results management systems.
Role Summary
The consultant will support the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase of a systems development project. The focus will be on ensuring the system meets user needs and is ready for launch. The consultant will translate requirements into test cases, manage UAT processes, log and track defects, and compile detailed summary reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into testable criteria
- Develop UAT test plans and strategies with stakeholders
- Create and execute detailed test cases and scripts
- Track, log, and prioritize system defects
- Deliver comprehensive UAT reports to management
Deliverables & Timeline
- Acceptance criteria translation – 15 July 2025
- Test plans and scope – 30 July 2025
- Test cases and scripts – 10 August 2025
- Test execution – 02 December 2025
- Defect tracking – 02 December 2025
- Final UAT report – 20 December 2025
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
- A bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience may be considered in lieu.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in UAT, Quality Assurance, or System Analysis.
- Experience with at least two UAT processes, documentation, and defect tracking.
- Familiarity with the UN or international organizations is an asset.
Languages:
- Fluency in English (required). Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
Key Competencies
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience translating requirements into test cases
- Ability to manage testing documentation and reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools and defect tracking systems
